FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. How much time in advance do I need to place my order?  We ask our customers to call 1 day in advance to allow us to put a scheduled route together for our drivers.  If you are out of oil we will try to accomodate as many same day deliveries as possible but have to put a limit on them.
  2. Can you do weekend deliveries?  Yes, we do run on Saturday's once the weather stays consistently cold in the winter months.
  3. Do I need to be there for my deliveries?  No, if access is easy, or we have been to your property before, we can deliver without you having to wait for our driver.  If you are paying cash on delivery and must step out please call the office and make arrangements as to where the payment will be.
  4. How far can you deliver from the tank?  Most of our trucks have 100 foot delivery hoses.  This is ample for most delivery scenarios.
  5. What are the heating laws in New York?  New York heating rules state that between October 1 and May 31 when the outdoor temperature falls below 55 degrees Fahrenheit between the hours of 6am and 10pm residential owners with tenants in New York City are required by law to maintain an indoor temperature of at leat 68 degrees Fahrenheit.  Between 10pm and 6am the building owner must maintain an indoor temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit when the outside temperature falls below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. Are your meters certified?  Yes, all our meters are certified by the State of New York and are required to be tested annually.
  7. What is a vent alarm?  A vent alarm is a safety mechanism on your tank.  The vent alarm allows the driver to know when your oil tank is full.   The vent alarm makes a whistling noise as the oil is being delivered and stops when the tank is full.  Our drivers will not deliver any more oil when the whistle stops as it may cause a spill.
